Mary’s River Quilt Guild
July 25, 2013 General Meeting

The meeting was called to order by Beth who welcomed all of those attending to our event which was held at the Mary’s River Park.
Announcements made included:
The Benton County Fair volunteer signup sheet was passed around.
Marsha reported that 88 quilts were sent to the Sisters quilt show with raffle ticket sales of about $500 at the show (last year’s sales were $652) and sales of quilts for guild members was over $3,300.  Thanks to all those who sent quilts, volunteered for sales and transported the quilts there and back.
Philomath wine walk was July 27th where the current raffle quilt will be on display at the Wine Vault and a request was made for volunteers to work on the raffle sales for this event.
Quilt County brochures were made available and an invitation / request made by the museum to have volunteers docents at the museum during quilt county.
Marsha advised of a cancer research project which is looking for participants.
Pot Holders will be at the Benton County Fair for sale and then to the museum for Quilt County.  Somewhere between 150-175 potholders have been made.
Jean displayed and described new books for the guild library.
Website status was shared by Beth noting that it is near completion.  Any member who has the website bookmarked will need to change this when the new site is completed due to change of hosting service.
Challenge Quilt 2014 time will soon be here and Judy invited anyone interested in participating in the shopping and planning to please contact her.
Packets of raffle tickets are available for individual members to pick up and sale to friends, family or co-workers.
Secret Sisters had their satchel available for items of exchange.
Hospitality had the name tag drawing.
Service Committee advised that four quilts sent to Sisters were sold to aid in funds for supplies and batting; quilt fabric and books are available for purchase and quilts needing binding are available also.
The Unitarian Fellowship is looking for large lap quilts to hang for Quilt County with their show location beginning September 10th.
Sweet Earth Winery will be having a quilt show Labor Day weekend and they are willing to sale quilts for those interested in displaying them at the show.
Philomath Quilt Show will be September 14, 15 at the Boy Scout Lodge.  Beth invited those interested in selling items, to join her at a vendor table.
Block of the Month drawing concluded the business portion of the meeting.

Respectfully Submitted,
Sharon Fries, Secretary
