General Meeting Minutes
11/18/10


Lisa Ullmer, President, called the meeting to order at 7:00 PM.

Ms. Ullmer conducted the Guest Roll call. There was one guest.

Ms. Ullmer announced that Naomi Widener and Peggy Pearson were taking over the responsibilities for the website.

Ms. Ullmer also announced that Theresa Valentine was the chairperson of the 2012 Raffle Quilt and that she was looking for volunteers to assist in that endeavor.

Maryanna Negley announced that she needed assistance with the programs logistics for next year, including hosting and introducing speakers.

Ms. Ullmer announced that a friendship blocks for departing Treasurer Joan Helzer will be made; the colors will be red, green and gold. Ms. Helzer has worked on many projects in the guild in addition to her duties as Treasurer; including organizing two raffle quilts. The pattern for the blocks is on the Mary River Quilt Guild Website.

Ms. Ullmer also reminded those in attendance that there was no December guild meeting.

Corey Arenzt, Vice-President, handed out the ballots for the elections of the positions of President and Treasurer.

Library - Jean McDaniel reminded attendees that the Guild and it's members are members of the American Quilter's Society and the guild receives American Quilter magazine. She also showed several other books that the Guild recently purchased.

Challenge Quilt - Judy Juntunen announced that she had sold out of the pre-made challenge quilt packets but had purchased some additional material and would make packets on demand if there were interested parties that had yet to purchase a packet.

2010 Raffle Quilt - Shirley Strub read the letter the guild received from the very happy 2010 Raffle Quilt winner.

Ms. Strub also has forms for the Qregon Gardens Stitches in Bloom Quilt Show. The guild needs to submit 12 entries in order to have to booth for the raffle quilt be no cost to the guild. She requested that members let her know if they had quilts that they would like to submit to the show.

Live Auction - Cindy Graff announced that she would be auctioning off two large pieces of fabric during the Silent Auction and that she hoped that these pieces would go for a minimum of $5 each.

Round Robin - Ms. Graff reminded members that in order to participate members must sign up by December 31st. Meetings for the next year will be held in the Grand Oaks community center.

Secret Sisters - Ms. Ullmer reminded members that the deadline for signing up for Secret Sisters was December 31st.

Quilt County - Marcia Gilson reported that there would be a meeting at the Benton County Historical Museum on December 1st at noon. The purpose of the meeting is to get information on different sites that will be participating.

Block of the Month - Barb Baxter conducted the block of the month drawing. Ms. Helzer and Pam Ward showed the completed January blocks, the patterns will be on the Guild website soon.

Ms. Arentz Announced the results of the election. The President will be Lisa Ullmer (who will be serving her last term) and the Treasurer will be Priscilla Newberger.

Hospitality - Diane Jackson conducted the hospitality drawing. Prizes were two fat quarters and a $10 gift certificate.

Jan Tallis thanked everyone who had donated items to the Silent and Live Auction that was occurring. She indicated that there was a wonderful selection of books , patterns, and other items. The proceeds will go to the JoAnne Cutler Hay Scholarship. The auction will end at 8:15 pm.

Show and Tell was conducted.

The Auction was held and quilt tying for the service committee was worked on as well.

Ms. Ullmer adjourned the meeting at 8:30pm.
