MARYS RIVER QUILT GUILD
ANNUAL PICNIC MEETING July 25, 2019

Lisa U. called the Annual Picnic  Meeting together at 7:00 p.m. at Philomath City Park. There were 32 members attending.

ANNOUNCEMENTS
The Benton County Fair is here. Take entries to the Fair grounds July 28 from 11 to 4:30 or Monday, July 29 from 10 to 1:30. Have a 4 inch sleeve on the top edge. Make sure the quilts are labeled.

Izzie has a book sale during the picnic. $1 each.
The box for the door price is in the corner.

Marcia G. said there is a signup genius for selling quilt raffle tickets at the Fair circulating. The shifts are 3 hours. She will email reminders to the sign ups.

ROUND ROBIN
Cindy G. announced the next meeting is August 12 at her house.

QUILT COUNTRY
Judy J. said four exhibits need quilts: 1. Last year’s challenge quilt 2. Not a Diamond in the Rough 3. Landscape 4. Me and My Travels

The speaker for the August meeting is Kay Kahn from Santa Fe. The September speaker lives in an RV. Her topic is barn quilts. The internet contact is barnquilttrails.com.

Lisa U. ended the meeting at 7:20 p.m. for food and Quilt Bingo.

GENERAL MEETING 6-27-2019


Lisa Ullmer opened the meeting at 7:00 p.m.
There were no new members or guests.
Benton County Fair news:
·        Put 4 inch sleeves on all quilts.
·        Drop off at fair ground on Sunday, July 28 from 11-5 p.m. or July 29 from 10-11:30 a.m.
·        Each entrant can turn in 5 different types of quilts
·        More information is on their website

Lisa said the signup genius is available for set up and take down for the Guild meetings.

VICE PRESIDENT
Theresa V. said that the Guild provides class scholarships to members. Applications are online. In return, the individual is asked to give a report/instruct the Guild on information learned.

QUILT COUNTY
Marsha G. reported that 15 shows are set from mid-August to September/October. 4 shows need quilts. Please sign up.
The sign up genius for selling raffle tickets at the Benton County Fair is available. Please bring projects to work on.

PROGRAMS
Ann G./Nancy A. announced the next program, July 25, is the annual picnic in the Philomath City Park at 6:30 p.m. Bring a side dish, your place setting and utensils. The main dish and drink is provided by the Guild.
The August meeting features Kay Conn, fiber artist. She has had non traditional exhibits in the DeYoung Museum in San Francisco and Phoenix.

Theresa V. asked for volunteers to sell raffle tickets at the Philomath Car Show, Saturday, July 13 in Philomath City Park.
Magazines for sale in the back of the room are ten cents each tonight.

SECRET SISTERS
The June 22 sew-in is coming up. The group is off the rest of the summer.

ROUND ROBIN
Cindy G. The next meeting is in August. She has informational handouts. The group meets one night every two months.

HOSPITALITY
Barbara G. drew the following names for door prizes: Linda J., Libby A., Theresa V.

SERVICE
Lynn G. announced the Service quilts: print nine-patch with black sashing, baby quilt, a nine and four patch from Kathy Griffin and a quilt from Carol Farnes.

SHOW AND TELL
Donelle T.: A black, brown and tan quilt.
Rita: a purse made from Japanese fabrics.
Theresa V. used fabric from Shop Hop: camping motifs, row by row of doors, row by row of mountains and buffalo.
Sara: Used a 1982 print for spools.
Flo C.: Used 3 inch squares obtained at a white elephant sale at Secret Sisters.
Debbie G.: A diamond theme with squares on point for Quilt Country.
Alice M.: A 9 patch with a large dog in the lower corner that was drafted by Libby A.
Karry M. A quilt with a red, green and indigo theme.

Lisa U. announced a 10 minute break.

Ann G. introduced the evening’s speaker, Ann Daughtry, from Eugene. She spoke on Fashionista to the Reluctant Quilter.

The meeting concluded at 8:40 p.m.
