Mary’s River Quilt Guild: January 23, 2014
Erica called the meeting to order. Guests are Kathy Holman and Marian McNamara (visiting former Guild member). Naomi announced that one of her art quilts is on the cover of Quilting Quarterly.
Treasurer: Linda is asking for reimbursement requests and membership sign-ups by the break.
Challenge: Judy Juntenen’s Great Great Grandmother made the Carolina Lily quilt that is in the current exhibit. There are new packets for Challenge quilt.
Round Robin: Round robin begins next Monday at Cindy’s house. Orientation/social meeting is the first month agenda. She is still taking additional members until then.
Chicks with Attitude – still has 75 chicks if a venue would like to sell them. Contact Wendi.
Quilts in the Garden. Linda J. placed bookmarks that have been made and are available at the info table. The event is August 16, 10-5 pm. Clipboard sent around for sign ups for hostess, garden crew or to provide a quilt. Themes: Quilting is a class act, Quilts of our imagination, Gardens in the quilt, quilts small and mighty, tried and true, quilts from across the Pacific, Not your Grandmother’s quilt. Places for any quilt will be fit into any of these themes.
Raffle quilt: Erica announced tickets are on sale. Asking for ideas for additional locations. These are the current locations: Museum, Fitness over Fifty, JanniLou Creations, Quiltwork Patches, Stash, Benton County Fair, Quilts in the Garden, Wine Vault….
Service: Emily gave a description of the committee. The committee meets twice a month and makes quilts from donated fabrics. You do not have to be a member to help the committee. Each Guild meeting we will have projects for you to take home (round robin, small machine quilting, binding, etc). We donated 53 quilts last year. The committee had 1000 hours of volunteer labor.
Webmistress: Erica has done some updating and if you have additional information please let her know. She asks that each committee chair look at their section and send her corrections, if necessary. BOM page is currently undergoing updates. She expects it to be updated by next Wed.
Library: Jean reports two new books, both appliqué.
Raffle Quilt 2015: Theresa reports that fabric has started to be purchased. Cutting parties will be scheduled to prepare for the paper piecing.
Hospitality drawing: Alice and Lisa
BOM: Linda showed Feb block. White background with a bright star. Cindy Graff won the blocks. Alice won the gift certificate for completing a BOM quilt last year.

Program: “Stitched…the film.” This film follows three quitlers as they create their entries for the 2010 International Quilt Festival in Houston.
