MARY’S RIVER QUILT GUILD
GENERAL MEETING 9/27/18


The meeting was called to order by President Barbara Gordon at 7:00 p.m.

Visitors were Susan Clark, a former member, and Marsha who was very impressed with the QnG this year.

Barbara thanked the nominating committee: Marsha, Beth and
The raffle quilt was on display last week.
Please continue to donate magazines. They are available on the back table.

Lisa said that she has $15 from raffle ticket sales. The quilt is the top money maker for the guild and encouraged members to continue to sell tickets.

HOSPITALITY
Phyllis’s own name was drawn for the fat quarters and Izzy E. won the $10 gift certificate.

BOM
Next month are the Civil War blocks: OSU and UO. The November block is USC. Harriet won the block drawing.
Barb said that due to a lack of interest, there will be no BOM program next year.

SECRET SISTERS
Wendi said the group had a picnic last week at Avery Park. Next month will be a Halloween party at her house. Members are to bring a list of two things about themselves that others don’t know. She has forms to join next year.

LIBRARY
In keeping with tonight’s topic, Karen said she brought books on antique quilts.

ROUND ROBIN
Cindy announced that the groups meetings ended in August. The quilts will be shown at the November meeting. She encouraged quilters to join next year and has forms to fill out to sign up. There are only five meeting a year.

CHALLENGE QUILT
Judy said that there are still three packets left and it’s not too late to join. The theme next year is “A Picture Is Worth A Thousand Words.” The cost is $5.00 if you take a panel and $2.50 if you provide your own. Bring the panel to the October meeting.

SERVICE
Emily M. announced more quilts are needed for veterans. They have patriotic fabrics available.
They need fabric donations and backings. A long arm quilter is also needed.

SHOW AND TELL
Flo S. showed a series of quilts.
Teresa V. had a jelly roll rug she made.
Carmen S. showed a Judy Niemeyer quilt.

Barbara called for a 10 minute break at 7:30.

Marsha announced that the Guild still needs a backup photographer to take pictures at the general meetings. Also needed are a 2020 raffle quilt coordinator(s) and a Quilt’s In The Garden coordinator(s) for 2020.

The program was a video on antique quilts since our scheduled speaker, Julie Silber, had to cancel because of a death. She will be rescheduled.

Barbara G. dismissed the meeting at 8:50 p.m.
