MARYS RIVER QUILT GUILD
GENERAL MEETING August 22, 2019


President Lisa Ullmer call the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.

ANNOUNCEMENTS
Visitors: Jane J. from Monmouth, 1 visitor from Corvallis. There were three new members: Marsha L. who was a charter member, Marion and Sally.

Benton County Fair: This year there were more quilts entered than in the last four years. The judging was bad. The superintendent quit six days before the Fair began. We, MRQG, need to provide suggestions for qualified judges.

VICE PRESIDENT
Theresa V. announced that $637 in raffle tickets were sold during the Fair. $204 sold at Fit Over Fifty for a total of $1376 sold so far.
The exhibit at the Corvallis Library needs members to help hang quilts on Friday, August 30th at 2:00 p.m.
Scholarships are still available. Applications are on the web site.

TREASURER
Marsha G. said there is no report.

2020 RAFFLE QUILT
Kelly C. said that help is needed assembling the quilt during the week following the September meeting.

QUILTS IN THE GARDEN
The next scheduled QnG is set for 2021. However, unless there are committee volunteers there will be no event.

CHALLENGE QUILT
Judy J. said the panel challenge quilts will be shown during the October meeting.

ROUND ROBIN
Cindy G. said that this year’s Round Robin quilts will be shown at the November meeting. She also invited new RR members. The group meets four time a year. Sign up for next year at the September, October or November meetings.

HOSPITALITY
Barbara G. And Izzy E. had winners draw the next name for door prizes. Winners were: Lois O., Cindy G. and Sharon H.

SERVICE
Lynn G. announced the five  Service Committee quilts. The Committee will meet on September 1st at the Philomath Library.

SHOW AND TELL
Cindy G. showed a completed challenge quilt kit from Grandma’s Attic.
Cynthia J. showed a quilt that won a blue ribbon at the Fair.
